“American Hero” was originally written for symphonic band and is dedicated to Brig. General Robert L. Scott, Jr., author of the book, “God Is My Co-Pilot” (later became a movie). In musical terms, “American Hero” represents the qualities of courage, compassion and nobility that are the hallmarks of all American heroes, whether young or old, from whatever walk of life.
